BOBBY BELL (LB. Chiefs 1963-74; Inducted Pro Football Hall of Fame 1983) was an all-state quarterback in high school and a two-way tackle at the University of Minnesota who won the 1962 Outland Trophy as the nation's top lineman. He became one of pro football's all-time great linebackers during a 12-year career in which he played every possible game-168 straight. In addition to playing linebacker, Bell excelled as a defensive end, center and long snapper. "I played on offense, defense and special teams," Bell said. "I got into the rhythm of the game as it went along and got sharper and sharper. It Would've been hard for me to platoon like players do today:' Bell was voted AFL/AFC nine times, was named to the AFL's All-Time Team and played in Super Bowls I and IV. "The Super Bowl wasn't as big then as it is now, but to me it was;' Bell said. "There are not that many guys who can claim they were part of it and the opportunity to play in it was top of the pyramid:' Today, the father of three lives with his wife in Lee's Summit, Mo., and owns Bellhof, Inc., a public speaking and al appearance company.
